Tech 101
I was fortunate to present on using technology at the EFT Summit with professional videographer, recording artist and musician extraordinaire Rick Savage.
One cool thing I learned from him is to FORMAT your video card after you transfer your files off of it EVERY TIME.
He explained that what can happen, and commonly happens, is your camera doesn’t recognize the files have been moved off and

the card can read as full even when it’s not. The other problematic thing that can happen is your camera may break up your recording into strange pieces, fitting onto spaces that were used previously.
The very fast, and easy fix, format. Reformat. Every time you take all the files off your video memory card – reformat.
Easy enough and I’m excited to try it.
By the way, if you want professional help with your video set up, making movies for supervision or to send in for your certification – Rick is married to an AEDP therapist and knows our world.
What and why we’re videoing what we do. And he’s super nice.
I’m happy to recommend him to you if you need some help more expert than what I can offer you on my tech help pages. I’ll be posting the Summit Technology 101 handout here soon.
